ASUS launches a new Eee PC model aimed at pre-adolescents, available in bright colors, coming fully customizable with stickers, and promises all day computing for up to 9 hours battery life.
The seashell-inspired 1001PQ has a sleek curves and smooth lines and is powered by Intel Atom N450 at 1.66GHz processor. It feature 10.1-inch LED Backlight (1024×600) display, up to 2GB DDR2 RAM, 160GB/250GB hard drive option, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, BluetoothV2.1 + EDR, 0.3 megapixel webcam, multi card reader, stereo speakers, 6-cell battery and Windows 7 Starter.
You get a choice of either Flam Purple or Vibrant Gold color scheme and it also comes with stickers to “let pre-adolescents express themselves by customizing their 1001PQ.”
The 1001PQand also comes with preteen-friendly Inspirus desktop, an icon-based interface designed to make it easy for pre-adolescents to surf the internet and play games. As well feature a built-in parental controls to keep an eye which websites their children can visit, their email contacts, and the programs they can access.
