Intel Corporation has launched its third-generation 320 Series solid-state drives, which is based on 25-nanometer (nm) NAND flash memory and proprietary firmware and controller. The drives feature a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, include 128-bit Advanced Encryption Standard capabilities, a MTBF of 1.2 million hours and are available in both 1.8-inch and 2.5-inch form factors.
The new Intel SSD 320 series offers up to 270 MB/s reading and up to 220 MB/s writing speeds and come in 40 GB($89), 80GB($159), 120GB($209), 160GB($289) and new higher capacity 300GB($529) and 600GB($1,069) versions (price based on 1,000-unit quantities).
