At the start of this week, LG Electronics has introduced two new Optimus Series smartphones, running on the latest Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) platform.
The first, LG Optimus Pro (LG-C660) is equipped with (240 x 320) touchscreen along with a portrait bar QWERTY keyboard underneath and also offers a dedicated hotkeys for email and scheduler. Inside it is boosted by 800MHz processor, backed by 256MB of RAM and 150MB of internal memory. Other features include an accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, a proximity sensor for auto turn-off, digital compass, GPS, HSDPA 3.6 Mbps support, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi with hotspot capabilities, Bluetooth 3.0, a 3 megapixel camera and a 1,500 mAh battery. Optimus Pro will be available in white, titan, and black at the end of this summer in 30 markets beginning in Europe.
The other model, LG Optimus Net (LG-P690) has a 3.2-inch (320 x 480) touchscreen display, powered by same 800MHz processor along with 512MB of RAM and 150MB of internal storage. It will be available in black and white, and also offers an accelerometer, a proximity sensor, digital compass, GPS, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi with DLNA support, Bluetooth 3.0, an FM radio and a 3.15 MP camera, all powered by a 1,500 mAh battery.
The phone features LG Social+ widget that combines the most popular social networking portals right on the homescreen and allowing you to update your Facebook and Twitter accounts with a single click while reading your friends’ social feeds on the same screen. The specifications of the Optimus Net will also vary depending on market, in Europe will be Near Field Communication (NFC) capable for mobile payments, while the US version will include a QWERTY keyboard and in Brazil, China, Asia and the CIS region, the smartphone will be dual SIM-compatible. Available this summer.
