Along with its new α65 and α77 cameras, Sony today also introduces its new flagship mirrorless Alpha NEX-7 compact interchangeable lens camera which is based on 24.3 megapixels Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor, backed by BIONZ image processor, a new TRINAVI control interface, and offers fastest (0.02 sec) release time lag.
The new compact camera features magnesium alloy body with a total of three control wheels and weighs only 291g. The NEX-7 is also equipped with the same OLED viewfinder (XGA, 2359k-dot) fount in the new Alpha A77, giving high contrast view of still images and video, with approximately 100% frame coverage and a wide field of view. This OLED viewfinder is complemented by a 3.0-inch Xtra Fine LCD with TrueBlack technology that can be angled up to 90° up or 45º down for easy viewing. The camera also offers 10fps continuous shooting, an ISO range of 100-16000, 1080 HD video shooting with 50p/25p in AVCHD format with stereo sound, manual focus and full P/A/S/M exposure control.
NEX-7 also offers fast shutter release lag of just 0.02 seconds, USB port, a mini HDMI output, and 11 modes and 15 effects, including new HDR Painting, Soft Focus, Miniature and Rich-Tone Mono, plus 3D Sweep Panorama, Soft Skin, Auto HDR, Handheld Twilight and Anti Motion Blur Modes.
The α NEX-7 will be available from November for $1,199 -body only.
