Toshiba has unveiled their first Ultrabook called Portege Z830 which features magnesium alloy casing that is only 0.63-inch (15.9 mm) thick and is also reinforced with an enhanced Honeycomb Rib design.
This 13.3-inch machine weighs less than 2.5 pound and is fitted with LED (1366 x 768) display, along with LED-backlit and spill-resistant keyboard. The Portege Z830 features new internal structures that provide shock absorption and increased rigidity. It is powered by a 2nd generation Core processors, has 6GB of DDR3 RAM and a 128GB solid state drive, backed by Toshiba’s Hi-Speed Start technology which accelerates boot-up and start times. Z830 offers all current connectivity options like LAN, WiFi, USB3.0 ports, HDMI and is also equipped USB Sleep & Charge technology, to power up your smartphones even while the system is powered down. There’s a a 1.3 megapixel webcam and stereo speakers with enhanced audio technology from Waves Audio.
Toshiba says that their ultrabook can provide 8 hours of battery life, and will go on sale in November, starting under $1,000.
