Sony has introduced its first 4K home theater projector which the company claims is the world’s first home theatre front projector that is capable of displaying 4K images and has been specifically designed for the consumer market.
Sony’s new VPL-VW1000ES projector offers 4096×2160 resolution with 2000 ANSI lumens and is equipped with the new SXRD 4K panel and company’s Iris3 technology, allowing it to achieve 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast. The projector supports Full HD 3D, as well as 2D and 3D anamorphic film, and also features an Super Resolution 4K upscaler “Reality Creation” that additionally enhances 1080P content. The VPL-VW1000ES comes with an integrated IR transmitter and offers a variety of installation options, including dual triggers, a 2.1 motorized zoom, expanded throw distances, an RS232 interface, control over IP, and compatibility with virtually every home automation integrator.
The VW1000ES is expected to be available this winter, but the price is still unknown.
