Samsung has announced the availability for pre-order of its slim Android powered Galaxy Tab 8.9 tablet which will be available in the US on October 2nd.
Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 8.9 is the smaller brother of the company’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 and comes in slim, 8.6mm casing. It is running Android 3.1 Honeycomb and Samsung’s TouchWiz UX on top, thanks to a a dual-core T250S processor on a 8.9-inch (1280 x 800) TFT touchscreen fortified by Gorilla Glass. The hardware inside includes 1GB of RAM, 16/32GB storage, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, microSD slot, and USB 2.0 por. It is also equipped with a gyroscope, an accelerometer and digital compass, has a stereo speakers, a microSD slot, all backed by a 6000 mAh battery.
On the back, Galaxy Tab 8.9 has a 3 megapixel camera with LED flash and 720p video recording capabilities and another one, front 2MP camera for video calls. It is available in two version, with a 16GB built-in storage for $469.99 ), and with 32GB for $569.99.
