Gigabyte starts sales of gaming laptop

The Taiwanese computer hardware manufacturer Gigabyte has started sales of the P2542G gaming laptop that has come to replace the P2542 model released last year.

The novelty sports a 15.6-inch Full HD display at 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and an Intel Ivy Bridge-based Core i7-3610QM quad-core processor, running at 2.3 GHz (3.3 GHz in Turbo Mode), up to 8 GB of DDR3 memory, a choice of storage drives – either a 750 GB hard drive or an mSATA SSD with capacities of 128 GB or 256 GB, the powerful NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M graphics cards with 2 GB of GDDR5 memory (users can also use the Intel HD 4000 graphics core in the CPU), Blu-Ray drive, a 1.3 MP web camera, two USB 3.0 ports, a card reader, HDMI, D-Sub and RJ45 jacks – all this powered by a 6-cell lithium ion battery. As to the audio system – it uses the THX TruStudio Pro system and consists of four two-channel speakers and two subwoofers.

The Gigabyte P2542G laptop also supports Intel’s Rapid Start technology that allows the PC to wake up from Hibernate mode in a few seconds.
