The LG Optimus G was unveiled just hours ago but LG is getting ready to launch a new Android-based smartphone – the Optimus L9. Unlike the high-end Optimus G though, the Optimus L9 is more of a budget-oriented smartphone. It comes with pretty nice specs though.
The LG Optimus L9 features a metallic finish with a frame that is just 9.1 mm thick. The smartphone offers a 4.7-inch touch screen IPS display, Android 4.0, 1 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, a 5 MP rear camera, VGA front facing camera, 4 GB of on-board storage and a 2150 mAh battery.
An interesting fact about the LG Optimus L9 software is that it comes with a QTranslator app that relies on OCR technology to recognize words and phrases in 44 languages and can translate to 64 different languages. In addition, it offers a customisable keyboard that can be changed on the fly to adopt a one-hand input approach.
LG, however, did not say anything on market price or availability.
