Here’s a new gaming laptop coming from Cyberpower. The device is called Fang Taipan after the poisonous Australian Taipan snake and the company claims it is the most “customizable gaming laptop”.
The Fang Taipan is truly a powerful machine – it can be equipped with up to two NVIDIA GPUs, Core i7 Ivy Bridge processors and a lot of memory. The base model comes with a case based on the Clevo P370EM whitebook design and integrates a 17.3-inch 1920 x 1080-pixel display with an integrated 2 MP web camera, fingerprint sensor and an illuminated keyboard. The hardware inside includes an Intel Core i7-3630QM quad-core processor, 16 GB of DDR3 RAM, a 60 GB SSD, a 1 TB hard drive, a DVD writer, two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670M GPUs and a Windows 8 installation for 1819 USD.
If you want something more powerful you can get the same laptop but this time equipped with an Intel Core i7-3940XM processor, 32 GB of RAM, two GeForce GTX 680M GPUs, two 512 GB SSDs, a Blu-Ray disc burner and a dedicated sound card for about 5000 USD.
The basic version of the Taipan, according to Cyberpower, weighs 8.6 pounds when equipped with one GPU only.
