Sapphire unveils Edge VS mini computers

Sapphire-Edge-VS8

The company Sapphire, best known for its huge line of AMD-based graphics cards, has released two new mini computers that belong to the company’s Edge VS line – the VS4 and the VS8.

The cheaper and slower VS4 version comes with an AMD A4-4355M APU that has two 1.9 GHz cores (up to 2.4 GHz in Turbo mode) and a built-in AMD Radeon HD 7400M GPU. The system also has 4 GB of DDR3-1333 memory and a 320 GB hard drive.

The VS8 model comes with an AMD A8-4555M APU with four cores at 1.6 GHz (up to 2.4 GHz in Turbo Mode) and a built-in AMD Radeon HD 7600M GPU, 4 GB of DDR3-1333 memory and a 500 GB hard drive.

Both machines feature the same external chassis and weigh just 0.66 kg. Other specs include AMD’s A70M chipset, a SD card reader, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, four USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, MiniDisplay Port and HDMI outputs and a S/PDIF port.

The Sapphire Edge VS4 and VS8 systems fully support Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 but they come with a pre-installed Free DOS operating system to cut costs down. This is the reason why you can have them for USD 430 (VS4) and USD 510 (VS8).
