Smartphone maker ZTE plans to release a new powerful 8-core smartphone that will go by the name of Apache. If true this will make ZTE the first provider of an 8-core smartphone ever.
The CPU inside – ARM15 MT6599 by Mediatek – will feature 8 hardware Cortex-A7 cores produced on 28 nm technology. The smartphone will also pack the PowerVR SGX544 GPU and will come with a sensor Full HD display with an unknown size, rear 13 MP camera and support for LTE, TD-SCDMA and WCDMA. Moreover Apache will run Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie.
ZTE Apache is expected to hit the market in Q2 2013 at the latest.
