Apple announces release date for new iMac AIOs

Apple Inc. has officially announced the upcoming release dates for the new generation of Apple iMac all-in-one computers.

According to the company’s press release Apple fans and customers will be able to get a new iMac AIO starting on November 30 with the 21.5-inch model debuting on this exact day. If you want a bigger display and some more power under the hood you will have to wait for the 27-inch model until sometime in December – but you can pre-order this model starting again on November 30.

The 21.5-inch model that will be available in just two short days will offer you a 2.7 GHz (3.2 GHz Turbo Boost) quad-core Intel Core i5 processor and a dedicated GeForce GT 640M graphics card – all for USD 1299. If you need more power but don’t want a larger screen then you can have the same 21.5-inch model with more powerful hardware – how about an Intel Core i5 chip at 2.9 GHz (3.6 GHz Turbo Boost) and a GeForce GT 650M dedicated graphics card – all for USD 1499?

The 27-inch model will offer a quad-core Intel Core i5 processor at 2.9 GHz (3.6 GHz Turbo Boost) and a GeForce GTX 660M graphics card for USD 1799. There’s an enhanced version too – this one comes with a 3.2 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 chip (3.6 GHz Turbo Boost) and a GeForce GTX 675M video card for USD 1999.

All new iMac AIOs include 8 GB of DDR3-1600 memory, a 1 TB hard drive, Core i5 Ivy Bridge processors that can be upgraded to Core i7 chips if needed, and the optional Fusion Drive that combines a 128 GB SSD with a standard hard drive for intelligent data management.
