The Chinese smartphone maker ZTE has presented a new smartphone – the Nubia Z5 Mini, which is the junior sibling of the already released Nubia Z5.
Despite being “Mini” the Nubia Z5 Mini comes with a rather large 4.7-inch display. As a comparison the Nubia Z5 comes with a 5-inch display. Produced by Sharp on OGS technology the 4.7-inch display works at 1280 x 720 pixel resolution (312 ppi) and offers 500 cd/m2 of brightness and 1000:1 contrast ratio.
The Nubia Z5 Mini is based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 processor with four Krait cores at 1.5 GHz and Adreno 320 GPU. The device also has 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot (up to 32 GB), a front 5 MP camera, a rear 13 MP camera, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth, NFC and HSPA+. In addition the Nubia Z5 Mini supports TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, EV-DO and GSM standards. A 2300 mAh battery powers all the hardware.
The Nubia Z5 Mini, which measures 134.8 x 65.7 x 10.3 mm, runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The device will sell for around USD 310 (in China at least).
