ASUS has finally announced the awaited Fonepad line with the first model being the Fonepad 7 phablet. The device is housed in a metallic chassis that measures 196.4 x 119.4 x 10.4 mm and weighs 340 grams.
The Fonepad 7 is based on an Intel Medfield processor with a 1.6 GHz single-core Atom Z2460 chip and an integrated PowerVR SGX 544MP2 GPU. It also has a 7-inch sensor IPS display that works at 1280 x 800 pixels, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, a rear 3 MP camera and a front 1.2 MP camera, support for 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, a GPS receiver, a number of sensors and a 4270 mAh battery.
The device runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and sells for around USD 300.
