The Taiwanese maker of cooling solutions Xigmatek plans to release a new CPU cooler – the Praeton LD964s.
The new company product is a cheap solution and is a low-profile product. It measures 104 x 83 x 44 mm and comes with an aluminum heat sink, four 6 mm nickel-plated C-shaped copper heat pipes with HDT technology (Heat-pipe Direct Touch). A 90 mm fan cools the heat sink; it spins at 800-1400 rpm, producing noise around 20 dBa. The MTBF of the cooling fan is around 40 000 hours.
The low profile has a price that must be paid though – the Praeton LD964s can cool chips with TDP not higher than 115 watts; furthermore it supports AMD AM2(+) and AM3(+) chips as well as Intel LGA 1155/1156 processors only.
The pricing of the Praeton LD964s is unknown.
