Having great hardware inside your smartphone does not cut it if your battery has to be recharged every few hours. Smartphone makers are aware of this fact and while there aren’t smartphones that can work for weeks with a single battery charge, there’s a step in the right direction and it is called Philips W6618.
The thing about this smartphone is that it offers extra long battery life that can reach 67 days in standby mode and 33 hours of talk time on a single battery charge, thanks to an integrated 5300 mAh battery. While this is an excellent fact there’s a tradeoff – the smartphone is 11.3 mm thick due to the integrated powerful battery.
Apart from this the Philips W6618 is more than a decent device – it has a 5-inch display at qHD resolution (540 x 960 pixels), a quad-core MediaTek processor at 1.3 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of flash memory, a microSD card slot, a 2 MP front camera, a rear 8 MP camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a micro USB port and a 3.5-inch audio jack. The Philips W6618 runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and sells for USD 270 on the markets in Asia.
