The Japanese smartphone maker Sony plans to start the sales of a rugged smartphone known as Xperia ZL2 SOL25. The device has a chassis with protection against dirt and water and measures 137 x 72 x 10.8 mm for total weight of 167 grams.
The Xperia ZL2 SOL25 has a 5-inch display at Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels, 443 ppi) and makes use of a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8974AB processor at 2.3 GHz. The smartphone is not slow too thanks to 3 GB of integrated RAM memory and 32 GB of storage memory (up to 128 GB with a microSDXC card) and has a rear 20.7 MP camera with an Exmor RS sensor, a powerful BIONZ image processor, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC and a 3000 mAh battery. The Xperia ZL2 SOL25 also comes with a special technology that can filter noises when talking. The technology reduces ambient sound by up to 98 per cent.
The new Sony smartphone runs Android 4.4 KitKat but its price is not known at the moment.
