NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX Titan was one of the most powerful 3D cards ever produced but despite this fact it appears that it has not quenched gamers’ thirst for power. This is the reason why now NVIDIA is reportedly working on a successor to the GeForce GTX Titan known as GeForce GTX Titan II.
All the information that we have about this device is preliminary so take it with a grain of salt. Anyway the upcoming GeForce GTX Titan II is expected in Q1 2015 and will be a single-chip solution that will be based on the 28 nm GM200 GPU that will come with the latest Maxwell architecture. The GPU will have between 3328 and 3548 stream processors and a 512-bit memory bus. The card itself is expected to have either 8 GB or 16 GB of GDDR5 memory but will not have serious power requirements and enhanced cooling thanks to all the energy-saving features implemented in the Maxwell-based GPU.
When released the GeForce GTX Titan II is expected to retail for USD 1000-1500.
