Gigabyte confirms GeForce GTX 880 this fall

The popular maker of graphics cards and motherboards Gigabyte has confirmed that the GeForce GTX 880 will be released this fall. The new card will be based on the latest NVIDIA Maxwell architecture and will indeed come with a 256-bit memory bus.

In particular Gigabyte has announced that the company will release a new line of graphics cards named G1 Gaming with the first representative being a GTX 880 video card. The future 3D solution will come with a special and very effective cooler, integrated LEDs and a reinforced PCB. Next year Gigabyte will release the next generation WindForce coolers.

As a side note, it seems that the release of the GTX 880 will coincide with AMD’s release of the Radeon R9 285 graphics card, based on the Tonga GPU with a 256-bit memory bus. We can’t blame NVIDIA, though, as it seems the company wants to remain competitive on the GPU market.
