The memory maker ADATA has presented what seems to be the first DDR4 memory designed for overclockers. The new memory is intended to work at 2800 MHz and belongs to the XPG (Xtreme Performance Gear) Z1 product line.
The announcement comes just weeks after the first DDR4 memory kits appeared on the market. The new ADATA DDR4 memory includes only high-end and high quality components and is based around 10-layer printed circuit boards. Quite naturally the memory is optimized to work with the upcoming Intel X99 platform and Haswell-E processors. In addition the new ADATA product comes with latencies of 17-17-17 and runs at 1.2V, which is the default value for DDR4 memory. The high clock frequency of the memory gives it a performance advantage too and it can transfer 22 GB of data per second.
If you are interested then you should know that ADATA will offer the new DDR4-2800 memory in modules with capacities of 4 GB and 8 GB but there will also be kits with total capacities of 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB.
To make sure the memory gets cooled sufficiently enough the new ADATA product comes with red heat sinks and a printed carbon logo, which makes it look really cool. The good news is that the heat sinks are directly connected to the memory chips, which improves cooling.
No word on pricing as of now but we are sure the new ADATA DDR4-2800 memory will not come cheap. A small consolation is that you get lifetime warranty for this memory.
