Sometimes it happens like this – a certain company announces a pretty interesting product that never comes out in the long run. This seems to be the fate of Fujifilm’s X-PRO2 X-mount camera – it has been in rumors here and there for more than a year but the actual model is nowhere to be seen.
Fortunately a source that is close to Fujifilm has said that the camera will be introduced in early 2015 or in H1 2015 at the latest. Given the long rumor run, some of the camera specs have been listed on the Internet although none of the information published is official. A few specs seem certain, though – like an APS-C 24 MP X-Trans sensor that will be of non-organic variety. Other expected specs include built-in Wi-Fi, an integrated tilt screen, a hybrid viewfinder and more but sadly this is what we know so far.
Still, not all hope is lost – if you do not want to wait that long (or possibly forever) you may want to take a look at the X-PRO1 camera by Fujifilm. It has a 16.3 MP X-Trans CMOS sensor with built-in hybrid viewfinder that combines optical with electronic elements and a 3-inch LCD screen on the back. The camera also has a wide range of buttons and dials which have made it a popular choice among photographers. In addition to that right now the X-PRO1 sells at a discounted price, which is another hint the X-PRO2 may be coming our way.
