Yes, you read that right – Mouse-Box is a PC inside a PC mouse and no matter how impossible this may sound, it is true. We feel we will be explaining things a lot here so read below!
Mouse-Box follows the clear trend in PC technologies that now tries to impose miniature PCs on the market. We first had the Raspberry Pi computer, which is still around and is doing well by the way, and then we got the Intel Compute Stick, which happens to be an entire PC in an HDMI dongle. Now we get Mouse-Box. What exactly is this?
Mouse-Box is a computer mouse that has become the house of some hardware and more specifically a quad-core ARM Cortex processor at 1.4 GHz, 128 GB of on-board storage memory, 802.11n Wi-Fi, two USB 3.0 ports, a microHDMI port, an accelerometer and a gyroscope. The device may also get a wireless transmission module in a later version.
Designed by a Polish company that carries the same name Mouse-Box also comes with a special inductive charging pad that can be used as a wireless charger for the PC or when folded it can be used as a regular box. Moreover Mouse-Box works as a regular computer mouse too. The idea behind this small-sized device is much larger, though – it aims to give people the opportunity to carry a PC with them at all times – all you need at this point is a display.
Don’t expect Mouse-Box to be on the market any time soon, though – the device is still under development and it is not clear if it needs further financing or not. In any case Mouse-Box is an interesting and promising project so let’s hope that we will be able to get it any time soon.
