The Republic of Gamers line by ASUS has grown once again this time including an interesting new product called GR8S. The new device is a creation of both ASUS and Valve’s Steam Machines and combines features from PCs and home gaming consoles. Almost as big as the Xbox One the ASUS ROG GR8S comes with the traditional ROG line colors of red and black.
The device comes with tons of options as expected and if you happen to purchase it, you will discover that it has DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 2.0 ports that support 4K Ultra HD at 60 FPS, an Intel-based Gigabit Ethernet controller, multi-channel audio connectivity, two USB 2.0 ports, four USB 3.0 ports and more importantly Intel Core i5 or i7 processors (depending on the configuration chosen), between 4 GB and 16 GB of DDR3 SDRAM (again depending on the configuration chosen), 500 GB or 1 TB HDD or 128 GB or 256 GB SSD storage, optional GeForce GTX 900-series graphics and 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
It looks pretty good, doesn’t it? Unfortunately here we have to spoil the picture a bit – the ROG GR8S will appear in November 2015 so there will be some waiting to be done. The pricing list is also unknown as of now but we know that the GR8S will start at USD 699.
