The Polish company Wilk Elektronik SA, which is best known for making RAM memory under the GoodRAM brand name, has announced its new Iridium and Iridium Pro solid-state drive lines. The new SSDs join the already released C40, C50 and C100 SSD lines but this time offer the more advanced Phison PS3110-S10 memory controller unlike the older SSD lines.
Unfortunately the tech specs list of the new Iridium and Iridium Pro SSDs is rather short. What we know is that the Iridium line includes models with capacities of 120 GB, 240 GB and 480 GB, while the Iridium Pro line offers more space in three models with capacities of 240 GB, 480 GB and 960 GB. The drives reach up to 560 MB/sec of read speed and up to 530 MB/sec of write speed, 86-100 thousand IOPS while reading and 90-91 thousand IOPS while writing. In addition they have up to 1 GB of DDR3L memory acting as a buffer. Unfortunately more precise tech specs are unavailable.
The GoodRAM Iridium line comes with a 3-year warranty, while the Iridium Pro will treat you with 5 years of warranty. The pricing is also unknown but the new solid-state drives may turn out to be a good choice for first-time SSD owners.
