The US memory maker Corsair has brought low voltage memory to its ValueSelect line of memory modules for the first time ever. ValueSelect is Corsair’s budget-oriented memory line that offers plain Jane memory to fans of the Corsair brand.
The new memory belongs to the DDR3 memory standard and offers capacities of 4 GB (code name CMV4GX3M1C1600C11) and 8 GB (code name CMV8GX3M1C1600C11) onto black PCBs. As expected from DDR3L the new Corsair memory modules run at 1.35V and feature the not so great latencies of 11-11-11-28 but we can’t be too disappointed since we are talking about budget memory. Due to the low voltage used, the modules have no heat spreaders of any kind.
The new memory is available now. Expect to pay USD 37 for a 4 GB stick and USD 67 for an 8 GB stick. The price also includes a lifetime warranty.
