Apacer Technology, which is known for making USB flash drives and computer memory, has unveiled the new AC330 external hard drive. The new device is just 12.4 mm thick and features a small-sized metallic chassis.
Apart from support for USB 3.0 the new Apacer AC330 sports the common 2.5-inch form factor and offers two capacities – 500 GB and 1 TB. The drive reaches up to 110 MB/sec of read speed and up to 105 MB/sec of write speed and is fully compatible with Windows and Mac OS X. Apacer claims that the 1 TB drive is capable of housing up to 220 hours of high-definition video, up to 500 000 digital photos and up to 250 000 songs. The AC330 is also energy efficient – the drive enters sleep mode after 10 minutes of inactivity and requires just a USB connection in order to function.
No word on pricing as of now.
