After announcing the 10-core Helio X20 chip a few weeks ago, MediaTek is now ready to present a new processor at the upcoming Computex 2015 exhibition this week. The new chip is called Helio P10 and is the first in a new Helio P line that will soon be used in new thin high-end smartphones.
The Helio P10 includes eight 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 cores at 2 GHz and a Mali-T860 graphics processing unit that runs at 700 MHz. The new SoC also includes a 4G LTE Cat. 6 modem that can transfer data at 300 Mbit/sec and has support for Full HD and Quad HD displays and 21 MP cameras with RWWB sensors. Moreover the Helio P10 will be produced on the new 28 nm HPC+ tech process that will allow the chip to use 35 per cent less energy when compared to other 28 nm SoC chips.
First samples of Helio P10 will appear in Q3 2015, while the first devices powered by this new SoC will appear at the end of 2015.
