Gigabyte has updated its Brix mini PC with a new version that carries the GB-BXi7H-5500 product name. The new version of Brix looks a lot like Intel’s NUC PC and comes in a black chassis that measures 46.8 x 107.6 x 114.4 mm. Users can also use 100 x 100 mm or 75 x 75 mm VESA stands with the new Brix mini PC.
The new GB-BXi7H-5500 is based on the Intel Core i7-5500U Broadwell processor at 2.4 GHz (3.0 GHz Turbo) and features Intel HD Graphics 5500 at 300/950 MHz. Thanks to the low power consumption of the installed Broadwell chip (just 7.5 watts), the GB-BXi7H-5500 comes with passive cooling only, which is a plus. The computer supports up to 16 GB of DDR3L-1866 memory, 2.5-inch SSD or HDD drives, and mSATA solid-state drives and has 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, a Gigabit Ethernet controller, NFC, four USB 3.0 ports, 3.5-mm audio jacks, HDMI and Mini DisplayPort.
The release date and the price of the GB-BXi7H-5500 are unknown as of now.
