Samsung’s Exynos 7420 SoC is currently the pride of the company. The chip offers excellent performance and powers Samsung’s flagship – the Galaxy S6 smartphone, being rivaled only by NVIDIA’s Tegra X1 processor.
Despite all these flattering facts Samsung thinks of the future – the company currently works on the Exynos 7420 successor. The new chip will be called Exynos 7580 and will be produced on the currently most advanced 14 nm production process. The processor will pack eight ARM v8 cores at 1.6 GHz and an integrated Mali-T720 GPU.
The new chip will likely debut in a yet unannounced smartphone, which has the P650M code name. Thanks to another leak by GFXBench, the new smartphone will have a large 5.5-inch or 5.7-inch display, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory and two cameras – one rear at 13 MP and one front at 5 MP.
