Dragon Friends: Green Witch is a game that we came across while browsing Google Play and since it was our first game for this weekend we thought we should give it a try. So we downloaded it and played it for a while.
Is Dragon Friends: Green Witch any good, though? It depends. We will first say that this is a game for children aged 10 at most, maybe. The game tells you the story of an island where dragons and the so-called Shy creatures lived happily until the evil Green Witch came and imposed slavery on all of them. So your main task is to free the island and the creatures and restore happiness.
Strangely enough, though, the game does not start with any actions that will lead to the island liberation. Instead you are tasked with feeding the Shy people, building farms, houses and so on. The app involves a lot of micromanagement and the interface hints of this too – it is full of buttons and other icons that will allow you to rule the island. The main idea behind this micromanagement activity is to raise dragons that will be able to defeat the evil witch but it depends on you whether it will happen or not.
Dragon Friends: Green Witch also does not shine with fancy features when it comes to graphics and sound – the app offers just two-dimensional graphics (but very colorful and nice) and music that is for children given the sounds that you will hear. Like we said this is a game for children but this is not necessarily a bad thing – Dragon Friends: Green Witch will teach kids how to manage resources and when to use them.
All in all Dragon Friends: Green Witch is not for people who want to see some quick action or resource management and then intense battles like in some other games like StarCraft for example. This free Android app will instead offer slow gameplay, a lot of resource management and a lesson in patience. Well, kids need these, don’t they?
Dragon Friends: Green Witch is here on Google Play. The game is free as usual.
