ASUS has finally launched the Republic of Gamers (ROG) GR6 mini gaming PC, which we reported on a few months ago. The GR6 is a compact gaming PC that looks like a gaming console – it measures just 238 x 245 x 60 mm and weighs 1.28 kilograms. The GR6 is available in stylish red and black and is designed for use in a vertical position.
Despite the time that has passed the GR6 does not come upgraded so expect to get a low-voltage dual-core Intel Core i5-5200U Broadwell processor at 2.2 GHz (2.7 GHz Turbo) with built-in Intel HD Graphics 5500 and TDP of 15 watts. We all know that built-in graphics does not cut it when it comes to the latest games so the ASUS GR6 comes equipped with a GeForce GTX 960M (Maxwell GM107) graphics card with 2 GB of GDDR5 memory but there’s more – expect to get 8 GB of dual-channeled DDR3L-1600 memory (up to 16 GB), up to 1 TB of hard drive space (7200 rpm) or 128 GB/256 GB of SSD storage as well as 100 GB of ASUS WebStorage for up to one year.
The rest of the specs include Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, SupremeFX 5.1 HD audio, four USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, a single RJ-45 jack, 3.5-mm audio jacks, HDMI and DisplayPort ports, S/PDIF, Kensington lock and Windows 8.1 64-bit.
The ASUS GR6 starts at USD 1055 and up.
