Samsung has officially presented the new Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 tablet. The device comes with nice hardware inside and an exceptionally thin chassis that will appeal to many people.
The new Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 features a light and thin metallic chassis that measures 169 x 237.3 x 5.6 mm (total weight of 398/392 grams for Wi-Fi/LTE versions) and includes design elements that can be seen in the Samsung Galaxy S6 flagship smartphone. As the name of the device suggests the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 has a 9.7-inch sensor AMOLED display that works at 2K resolution (2048 x 1536 pixels). The display covers 94 per cent of Adobe’s RGB palette and features a 4:3 aspect ratio instead of the popular 16:9 ratio.
Inside the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 features the 8-core Samsung Exynos 5433 processor, which houses four ARM Cortex-A53 cores at 1.9 GHz and four ARM Cortex-A57 cores at 1.3 GHz as well as Mali-T760MP6 graphics. The tablet has 3 GB of LPDDR3 memory, 32 GB or 64 GB of internal memory (depending on version chosen), a microSDXC memory card slot (up to 128 GB), one rear 8 MP camera and another 2 MP front one, support for LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, 802.11n Wi-Fi, a GPS receiver, a powerful 5870 mAh battery, a fingerprint scanner and more. The tablet will be available in two colors – black and white.
