Flip smartphones are really hard to find nowadays being almost forced into oblivion by touchscreen devices but the idea of selling such a phone persists. After all Earth has a population of 7.5 billion people and there surely are some folks who would love to have a flip smartphone instead of a “regular” one.
LG’s brand new Gentle smartphone targets just these people. The Gentle is the latest and newest flip smartphone to hit the market and it comes with decent specs – the device comes with a 3.2-inch touch screen display at 320 x 480 pixels, a quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor at 1 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot for expansion, one rear camera at 5 MP, another front camera at 3 MP, LTE, an FM radio, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0, a GPS receiver, one 1700 mAh removable battery and Android 5.1 Lollipop. The device measures 117.7 x 58.7 x 16.6 mm and weighs 143 grams.
The Gentle will be available on July 29 in South Korea where the device will sport two colors – Navy and Burgundy. The smartphone will sell for around USD 170 at the local LG U+ local Korean operator. There’s no information on whether the Gentle will sell outside of Korea but the smartphone may appear in other countries as well.
