Meizu has announced a new budget-oriented smartphone under the rather short brand name M2. The device measures 140.1 x 68.9 x 8.7 mm and weighs 131 grams.
The new M2 is based on the quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor (ARM Cortex-A53 technology), which also has built-in Mali-T720 graphics and a LTE modem. The device also has a 5-inch sensor IPS display at 720p resolution (1280 x 720 pixels) with AGC Dragontail protection, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot for expansion (up to 128 GB), a rear 13 MP camera with LED flash and Gorilla Glass 3 protection, a 5 MP front camera, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, a GPS receiver, various sensors, and a 2500 mAh battery. There will also be a dual-SIM version.
The Meizu M2 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and uses the Meizu FlyMe OS 4.5 user’s interface. The smartphone will sell for just USD 99.
