With Windows 10 installed on more than 100 million computing devices it is time for an update that will bring new functions and fixes to recently discovered bugs. This is what Microsoft will bring in just about 2 weeks time with a new major update to its latest operating system. This news is in unison with the intention of Microsoft to retire its service packs and even Windows itself by bringing major updates only just like Apple has been doing for many years.
The new update called Threshold 2 will bring several user interface improvements such as improved context menus, title bars for desktop apps and an additional column of Live Tiles for the Start menu. In addition the update is expected to feature new messaging and Skype video apps that will bring native Skype calling and messaging to Windows 10 as well as some tweaks to Microsoft’s brand new Edge web browser. There isn’t an official release date as of now but everything suggests that Threshold 2 will appear in the first week of November.
Microsoft will keep on updating Windows 10 with more stuff – that’s why in early 2016 Windows 10 users will get a new major update called Redstone. Unfortunately very little is known about this one as of now.
