The arrival of Windows 10 has brought a new browser to the scene. Called Edge, the new browser is here to retire Internet Explorer and convince users Microsoft can develop fast and reliable browsers with low hardware requirements.
The presence of Edge now on all Windows 10 machines has prompted Microsoft to announce some news regarding Internet Explorer. More precisely, on January 12, 2016 Microsoft will end all support for all versions of Internet Explorer except for the latest Internet Explorer 11. This means that users of older versions of IE will not get updates and security patches anymore as well as tech support.
The end of support does not mean older versions of Internet Explorer will cease to function – quite the contrary. They will continue to run but if you happen to experience a bug or a problem, then you will be on your own. The solution is simple – use a competing browser or migrate to Windows 10. You still have some time to do so.
