A month after announcing the Nen Steam Machine small form factor gaming computer ZOTAC is back with a new offer called ZBOX MI551. The new computer offers the full power of Intel’s Skylake microarchitecture all wrapped up in a case that can fit nearly anywhere.
The new ZOTAC ZBOX MI551 computer is surprisingly small – it is as big as a Wi-Fi router – but this does not prevent it from offering some serious performance. The machine is based on an Intel Core i5-6400T quad-core Skylake processor with low TDP that runs at 2.2 GHz (2.8 GHz Turbo) and has two DDR3L-1600 memory slots for up to 16 GB of RAM. The original configuration comes with a single 4 GB memory stick so there’s room for an upgrade. In addition to this the ZOTAC ZBOX MI551 has a single 2.5-inch SATA HDD/SSD bay, one M.2 SATA SSD slot, Intel HD 530 graphics, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, dual 10/100/1000 Ethernet connectivity, two DisplayPort 1.2 connectors, one HDMI 1.4 port, a 3-in-1 card reader, one USB 2.0 port, two USB 3.0 ports and one USB 3.1 Type-C port, headphone and microphone jacks and more. The computer has a pre-installed 120 GB SSD too and is capable of running Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 (32-bit or 64 bit).
The price of the ZOTAC ZBOX MI551 is unknown but the hardware power inside and the really small dimensions of this computer make it a very sweet product.
