The US company Razer has surprised its fans with its latest advanced product, which happens to be a completely new smartwatch that is called Razer Nabu Watch. The device will be available in two versions – standard and Forged Edition – but in both cases the Nabu Watch comes with a unique dual display system.
In addition to this Razer promotes the Nabu Watch as a device that is “not a smartwatch but a watch that is smart”. In case you can’t quite figure out what this means read this – the Nabu Watch comes with a much better battery life than other competing solutions, while keeping most smartwatch functions.
The new Nabu Watch offers a watch function that is powered by a standard replaceable CR2032 coin battery. Thanks to this the smartwatch provides up to 12 months of autonomy when used just as a watch. In this mode, the device provides its users with a 1/100 second stopwatch, a countdown timer, full auto calendar, world time, an alarm and three multi-function alarms. The smartwatch part of the Nabu Watch is powered by a lithium-ion battery that can last for up to seven days. In this mode the device can provide watch-to-watch communication, discreet messaging and fitness tracking. The new Razer gizmo is now compatible with devices, which run iOS 8 or newer as well as with Android 4.3+ gadgets.
As to pricing the Nabu Watch sells for USD 149.99 for the standard version and USD 199.99 for the Forged Edition, which includes stainless steel buttons and a premium black finish. The Forged Edition is now available, while the standard one will be in stores by the end of January 2016.
