HP is not usually known for gaming PCs but the US company has just launched two new such models – the Envy Phoenix 860-170VR and the Envy Phoenix 860-170VX. Both models are “Virtual Reality Certified” in partnership with HTC so this definitely adds value to these machines.
The new HP Envy Phoenix 860-170VR computer features an Intel Core i7-6700K Skylake processor with HP Envy liquid cooling solution, 16 GB of DDR4 memory that runs at 2133 MHz, AMD Radeon R9 390X 8 GB graphics, a 2 TB 7200 rpm hard drive, SuperMulti DVD burner, 600W PSU, 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The other model – the HP Envy Phoenix 860-170VX features the same Core i7-6700K Skylake processor with HP Envy liquid cooling but it comes with GeForce GTX 980Ti 6 GB graphics, 24 GB of DDR4-2133 memory, 2 TB of HDD storage, 500W PSU, SuperMulti DVD burner, 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Both desktop computers run Windows 10 Home 64-bit and come with customizable LED lighting and Bang & Olufsen audio.
The HP Envy Phoenix 860-170VR starts at USD 1700, while the other Envy Phoenix 860-170VX model starts at USD 2000 and these are prices with no displays included. Needless to say that if you want to upgrade these computers with a SSD, for instance, the prices will go up, so think wisely.
The two new HP gaming computers are now available.
