It has taken Raspberry Pi Foundation exactly four years to come up with three versions of its famous Raspberry Pi computer – exactly four years ago, on February 29, 2012, the foundation presented its Raspberry Pi computer for the first time and now has done the same for its third version – again on the rare 29th day of the second month of the year. In case you wonder, the second version of the Raspberry Pi was released a year ago too.
Anyway the new Raspberry Pi 3 is here and the device is now available for USD 35, which is 10 dollars more than what the Raspberry Pi cost when it came into existence. The wanted USD 35 will give you a Broadcom BCM2837 chip, which includes four 64-bit Cortex-A53 cores at 1.2 GHz. The processor inside is fully compatible with the older BCM2835 and BCM2836 processors, so you will be able to run older software on the Raspberry Pi 3 with ease. The new computer also enjoys Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth 4.1. All other specs are the same as in the Raspberry Pi 2 and the new computer even has the same looks and the same internal component places. The LEDs have been taken from one side to the other for reasons unknown. With the new hardware inside the Raspberry Pi 3 is ten times faster than the original Raspberry Pi computer.
The new Raspberry Pi 3 will be in stores very soon. The price, as we mentioned before, will be USD 35.
