Chieftec has announced the release of the new GPE Eco PSU line. It includes four models known as GPE-400S, GPE-500S, GPE-600S and GPE-700S. The power output is obviously 400W, 500W, 600W and 700W.
This is the place to say that the new Chieftec PSU line is a budget one – the PSUs are housed in ordinary chassis, they lack modular cabling as well as EPS12V functions in the 400W and 500W models, they work only in 230V power grids and in addition to this the wattage describes the peak power output. Still, the GPE Eco line has several features worth noting – it comes with an 80 Plus Bronze certification, active PFC, a cooling fan inside that spins at up to 1500 rpm, support for Intel C6 and C7 states and more.
The new Chieftec PSUs will be in stores by the end of the month. No word on pricing as of now.
