Yesterday’s leak on the tech specs of the GeForce GTX 1070 has finally prompted NVIDIA to officially publish the specs of the upcoming card. Now everyone interested in the GTX 1070 can find what the card will come with when it gets launched on June 10 this year.
The GTX 1070 will strongly resemble the GeForce GTX 1080 on the outside but inside the new video card will arrive with cut-down hardware specs. As reported earlier the GTX 1070 will have 1920 CUDA cores in its GP104 GPU, a 256-bit memory bus and 8 GB of regular GDDR5 memory and NOT the GDDR5X memory seen in the GTX 1080. The GPU in the GTX 1070 will run at 1506 MHz and will reach 1683 MHz in Turbo mode. As to the installed GDDR5 memory – it will run at 8000 MHz effective, which is 20 per cent slower than the GTX 1080. These specs hint that the GTX 1070 may be around 20 per cent slower than the GTX 1080 but even then NVIDIA says that the GTX 1070 will be at least two times faster than the GeForce GTX 970.
In addition to this the upcoming GeForce GTX 1070 video card will support 2-way SLI, and resolutions of up to 7680 x 4320 pixels and will offer Dual-Link DVI-D, HDMI and 3x DisplayPort 1.4 connectors. The card will occupy two slots inside your chassis and will be up to 267 mm long and up to 111 mm wide. The GTX 1070 will consume up to 150W of power so you will have to connect an 8-pin power connector in order to enjoy what the GTX 1070 has to offer.
The expected price of this card is USD 379.
