ASUS has added a new ZenPad tablet to its ZenPad lineup. The newcomer is called ZenPad 3 8.0 and strangely enough it almost completely resembles the already launched ZenPad Z8, which is available only through Verizon in the United States. Maybe this is a way to sell a ZenPad Z8 tablet to everyone who wants to get it but does not want to go to a Verizon store.
The new ZenPad 3 8.0 tablet features a 7.9-inch IPS display with 178-degree viewing angles and resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. The device also includes a six-core Snapdragon 650 processor with four ARM Cortex-A53 cores at 1.4 GHz and two ARM Cortex-A72 cores at 1.8 GHz, Adreno 510 graphics, 2 GB/4 GB of LPDDR3 RAM memory, 16 GB/32 GB of internal memory that can be expanded through a microSD memory card (up to 128 GB), dual front-facing stereo speakers, 7.1-channeled DTS-HD audio, 4G LTE, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, a USB Type-C port, and a 4680 mAh battery. Of course, there’s a camera combo too – the ZenPad 3 8.0 has an 8 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front shooter. The device runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with ZenUI 3.0 and measures 136.4 x 205.4 x 7.57 mm (the total weight is 320 grams).
As you can see the major difference between the ZenPad 3 8.0 and the ZenPad Z8 is that the former has a version that comes with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory. The ZenPad Z8 can only offer 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory, which means that the changes in the ZenPad 3 8.0 are more than welcome.
Sadly, there’s no information on the price of the device and when it will be available in stores.
