HP creates notebook display that prevents spying

Notebooks are one of the most popular tech devices nowadays – thanks to their portability millions of people around the world can enjoy digital content and even work while on the go. Unfortunately all notebooks come with a serious drawback – their displays cannot prevent people from behind from seeing what you are doing at the moment.

Fortunately there’s some good news – a team of scientists working for HP have successfully created a new technology called Sure View. The technology has been developed in collaboration with 3M and it ensures that only the user in front of a notebook can see the display. To achieve this all you need to do is face the display straight on by preventing light from shooting off to one side or to the side. This means that people staying behind a user will not be able to see anything. If you do not want to use this privacy filter any more you can turn it off by using a simple keyboard shortcut.

The new HP Sure View display technology will be available soon on two new HP notebooks – the EliteBook 1040 and the EliteBook 840. These notebooks will be available next month.
