The Taiwanese ASUS has officially presented its third generation ZenWatch smartwatch. Unlike its predecessors the new digital gizmo comes with a round circle-like chassis and this makes it easily recognizable.
The ZenWatch 3 offers a 1.39-inch display that works at 400 x 400 pixels. The display is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass technology, while the chassis meets all IP67 requirements and this makes it water-, dust- and dirt-resistant. The chassis is 9.95 mm thick and is made of 316L stainless steel. On the inside the ZenWatch 3 features the first Qualcomm processor for wearable devices – the Snapdragon Wear 2100. The chip packs four ARM Cortex-A7 cores at 1.2 GHz and Adreno 304 graphics. The ZenWatch 3 is equipped with 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory. Moreover the new smartwatch runs Android Wear 2.0 with an ASUS interface that allows for 50 different images that show the current time. The device also has additional fitness software and a 340 mAh battery that can be recharged from 0% to 60% in just 15 minutes thanks to the so-called ASUS Hypercharge technology.
The new ASUS ZenWatch 3 will be available in three different colors – silver, pink and dark gray. The launch date of the new smartphone is unknown and so is the price.
