The PowerShot family of Canon digital cameras will get a new member next month when Canon plans to release a new premium-class digital camera that will be known as PowerShot G3 X.
The new digital camera will have a sturdy chassis that will offer protection from water and dirt and will measure 123 x 77 x 105 mm for total weight of 733 grams. These dimensions house excellent photo hardware – the PowerShot G3 X has a 20-megapixel 1-inch BSI-CMOS sensor, low noise levels at up to ISO 12800 and picture quality that rivals photos taken with DSLR cameras. The PowerShot G3 X also includes Wi-Fi, NFC, a 3.2-inch touch-enabled articulating LCD display, an ability to shoot 1080p videos at 60 FPS and more importantly Canon’s DIGIC 6 image processor and 25x optical zoom, which is equivalent to 24-600 mm lens. Moreover the camera packs a SD/SDHC/SDXC card slot, a USB 2.0 port and a HDMI port so you will be able to unload your photos in almost any way possible. The camera also includes support for tablets and smartphones so you will be able to control it wirelessly when such a need arises.
The Canon PowerShot G3 X will sell for USD 999 when it reaches the market sometime in July.
