The rumored Galaxy S4 Zoom hybrid device has been officially unveiled by its creator Samsung – a few days before the official launch date of June 20.
The Galaxy S4 Zoom is a device, which combines a smartphone with a digital camera. The camera comes with a BSI CMOS sensor with sensitivity of 16 MP and has a 10x optical zoom with an image stabilization system and a special “Zoom Ring” that surrounds the camera. When twisted the Zoom Ring launches in-call photo sharing or the user can go straight to other camera modes.
The smartphone in the Galaxy S4 Zoom offers a dual-core CPU at 1.5 GHz, 1.5 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory (5 GB usable) that can be expanded via the integrated microSD card slot. The S4 Zoom also offers a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display at 960 x 540 pixels (256 ppi).
The Galaxy S4 Zoom also offers 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, a GPS receiver, a front 1.9 MP camera, a 2330 mAh battery and a HSPA+ modem. Samsung will release a LTE-enabled version too. The new smartphone-digital camera hybrid runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
