Many people around the world like to build their own PCs. In many cases, they have a huge choice when it comes to computer chassis, except in one area – that of small form factor computers, where up until now the chassis choice included just two models – the Intel NUC and the Gigabyte BRIX models.
Now Gigabyte has presented one more model for such computer builders – this one is called Essence and it is a mini-ITX case, designed especially for hardware fans. The newcomer carries the GZ-2SLEDT product codename and measures 74 x 300 x 234 mm for total weight of 1.35 kilograms. The case is made of 2 mm Japanese zinc-coated SECC steel and 2.5 mm thick plastics. The only available color, however, is just red and black, which by the way does not look that bad. There’s a fan opening in the case too.
The new Gigabyte Essence is fully compatible with mini-ITX motherboards and can work with one 2.5-inch storage device. There are two USB 2.0 ports too and 3.5 mm audio jacks. Three 40 mm cooling fans are responsible for the case cooling. The chassis is powered by a 120 W power supply unit.
The new case will sell for USD 130.
