The Chinese company Huawei has entered the SSD market by presenting a high-speed server solid-state drive line that goes by the name of ES3000 V2. The SSDs in the line support PCI-Express 2.0 x8 and come in two form factors – a low profile one and a fully-fledged one and carry 20 nm NAND flash memory inside.
The ES3000 V2 features capacities that range from 600 GB to 3.2 TB and depending on the model the performance varies. As we know the higher the capacity the lower the performance but the 3.2 TB model seems to be an exception – the drive reaches 3 GB/sec of read speed and 2.1 GB/sec of write speed, respectively as well as 750 000 IOPS while reading and 580 000 IOPS while writing, which is impressive.
The ES3000 V2 line carries a 5-year warranty. Unfortunately there’s no information on the pricing of the line and when it will actually reach the market.
